Mateo Kovačić was born in Linz, Austria on May 6, 1994. When he was 16 years old, Kovačić started his football playing career from Dinamo Zagreb, where he obtained consecutive titles two times prior to transfer to Inter in 2013. For outstanding performances in U17 matches, he became an excellent and the youngest goal-scorer of the league. Known for his versatile ability in football, he was taken as a left or an attacking midfielder of the Real Madrid and Croatia national football team.
After played for the Dinamo Zagreb, he reached an agreement with the world-class football club – Inter Milan for €15 million. In 2015, Mateo Kovačić became a professional football player of the Real Madrid, turning to be the fifth Croatian player after Robert Prosinečki, Davor Šuker, Robert Jarni and Luka Modrić. In 2017, he won the first goal in a league match against Real Sociedad. In addition, he also devoted himself in football playing for Croatia national football team, earning many honors and achievements for Croatia side.
